University of Glasgow – Improving the experiences of justice for victim-survivors of rape and sexual assault

One in 10 women and one in 50 men in Scotland has experienced rape.  University of Glasgow research has directly informed the development of an innovative pilot model of advocacy support for those reporting rape and sexual assault; a new Scotland-wide advocacy model to support victim-survivors throughout the criminal justice process; and partnership working and service delivery in key agencies. All of this has ultimately improved the experiences of victim-survivors. The Scottish model is now providing the basis for advocacy models in other jurisdictions (e.g. Northern Ireland).
